Reclink Community Cup Returns To Adelaide In 2018
The much-adored charity football match, the Reclink Community Cup will return to Cooper’s Stadium, Norwood on Sunday, 12th August to see local musicians take on the Adelaide media to raise money for Reclink Australia.
The annual friendly football match pits some of the states best musicians and largest media personalities against each other in a football match of hilarity, fumbles and mateship. Most importantly the game raises awareness and much needed funds for Reclink Australia, which goes towards the running of arts and sport programs for disenfranchised and disadvantaged communities in South Australia.
Last year, The Rockatoos were victorious for the third consecutive year and featured the football prowess from such musicians and bands as West Thebarton, Grenadiers, The Bitter Darlings and Hightime. While the Anchors took strength and knowledge from the likes of Channel 9 captain Jessica Braithwaite, ABC State Political Reporter Nick Harmsen and Fresh 92.7’s Jay Bangers.

With more than 2000 spectators through the gates of Norwood’s Coopers Stadium in 2017, the event’s festive, family friendly atmosphere is the reason players, sponsors and supporters have returned each year since its inaugural match in 2015.
“We are delighted to once again work with our talented Organising Committees to bring the Reclink Community Cup to Adelaide.” Said John Ballis, CEO, Reclink Australia.
“Our appreciation and encouragement goes out to all the sponsors and community groups who pull together to get this great game happening every year. Now in its fourth year in Adelaide, The Reclink Community Cup has established itself as a key event on the Adelaide calendar and we are keen to work with local organisers to keep growing this great event in South Australia.”
The game shows the sporting abilities and lack thereof from many of our favourite media and music personalities. Registrations are now open in Adelaide, with the line-up for pre-game, post-game and halftime entertainment yet to be revealed.
Come and support the musicians and media personalities in Adelaide at Coopers Stadium, Norwood on Sunday, 12th August.
